It is one of the most common questions, and there is no honest one-line answer. The price of a patch depends on several technical and production factors. Here is what really affects the cost.

Size
The larger the patch, the more material and stitching time it needs. A small 5 cm patch costs less than a large 12 cm back patch.
Stitch Count
Fully embroidered patches require more stitches than partially embroidered ones. More stitches mean more machine time and higher production cost.
Quantity
Tiered pricing usually starts from around 10 pieces. The unit price drops as quantity increases because setup costs are spread across more patches.
Backing
Velcro patches cost slightly more than sew-on patches because the hook-and-loop backing adds extra material and work. Iron-on backing usually sits in between.
Shape
Standard shapes such as round or rectangular are usually cheaper than contour-cut patches. Special shapes need extra cutting steps.
Digitising
Digitising your artwork is a one-time setup cost. It is only charged on the first order, so repeat orders are more affordable.
A Realistic Price Guideline
A small embroidered patch of around 5 cm can start at just a few euros per piece. Fully embroidered medium-size patches cost more, while large back patches or very detailed motifs can increase the price significantly. Artwork digitising starts at EUR 59 excl. VAT as a one-time setup cost.

Common Questions About Patch Prices
Is one single patch much more expensive than a series?
Yes. A single patch carries the full setup cost on its own. From around 10 pieces onward, the unit price usually becomes noticeably better.
What about repeat orders?
Repeat orders are cheaper because the digitising is already done. In most cases, only the production costs remain.
Are there hidden costs?
No. Our quote clearly shows all relevant costs such as material, embroidery, cutting and selected backing. Shipping is listed separately.
Are Velcro patches more expensive than sew-on patches?
Usually yes, slightly. Velcro requires extra backing material and an additional production step.
