What a diode laser can realistically do on metal
A diode laser does not mark raw metal the way a fiber laser does. For raw, untreated metals we use marking paste or spray, which the heat bonds permanently to the surface.
On anodised aluminium or powder-coated metals the laser produces a direct, bright contrast with no additives at all.
Where metal engraving makes the most sense
Tools, technical parts, promotional items and markings for maintenance or inventory all benefit from a long-lasting mark.
Frequently asked questions
Can you engrave stainless steel?+
Yes. With marking paste or spray we achieve a permanent, high-contrast black tone on stainless steel.
How scratch-resistant is the mark?+
Very high. On anodised aluminium the coloured layer is removed down to the base material, so the result is scratch- and wipe-resistant.
How small can you engrave?+
For readable text we recommend at least 3 mm cap height, for QR codes at least 15 × 15 mm.
